The Assessment Summit is an annual event for faculty, staff, and administrators that celebrates and strengthens DSU's culture of assessment and institutional effectiveness.
The 2022 virtual Assessment Summit was a successful, engaging event. Using an easier-to-use Zoom platform and support from the Summit Committee, the event added two additional tracks — leaders and administrative assistants. The "Olympic-sized" event featured an opening ceremony, three 30-minute concurrent breakout sessions with an Olympics/sports theme, and three external speakers sharing institutional-effectiveness practices. Breakout sessions were followed by games and voting for the best presenter, and a closing ceremony recognized members of the Assessment Team. More than 190 faculty and staff attended. Following a successful MSCHE reaffirmation process, the event was a true celebration of DSU's assessment culture.
Attendees praised the organization, the variety of tracks "for everyone, regardless of job unit," the knowledgeable speakers, and the interactive, fun format.
